The Horticultural Training Programme
Each year the Botanic Garden takes on two horticultural trainees to work alongside the horticultural staff.
Your membership supports the Garden’s mission of conservation, education and scientific research and brings you exclusive Garden privileges.
You also can enjoy a variety of exclusive member events as well as advanced notification for classes, lectures, and plant sales.
Plant picks this week are like Dante before he finds Virgil, although hopefully we lead you through something closer to Paradiso than Inferno. What I mean to say is that our excellent 2014/15 vintage of trainees have left for pastures new (no doubt in need of some top-notch turf maintenance) and our new arrivals are deemed too green for a week or two to make the picks!
The Botanic garden offers enriching outdoor learning experiences for all students. Our landscape and plant collections provide a feast for the eyes, and we encourage visiting groups to learn to look. The development of observation skills is a fundamental scientific tool, which we aim to support at all levels.
Support from corporate members helps The Botanic Garden continue its diverse programs, while providing the company, and its employees with exclusive benefits and privileges.
We work closely with corporations to create sponsorship strategies tailored to meet their needs.
