Access and
facilities

As there are no refreshment facilities available at the Botanic Garden, our visitors are very welcome to bring a picnic with them. Toilet facilities including an adapted toilet and baby change are available from March to October 7 days a week, but only on weekends during the winter unless by prior arrangement.

This week's
plant picks

Plant picks this week are like Dante before he finds Virgil, although hopefully we lead you through something closer to Paradiso than Inferno. What I mean to say is that our excellent 2014/15 vintage of trainees have left for pastures new (no doubt in need of some top-notch turf maintenance) and our new arrivals are deemed too green for a week or two to make the picks!

Educational
visits

The Botanic garden offers enriching outdoor learning experiences for all students. Our landscape and plant collections provide a feast for the eyes, and we encourage visiting groups to learn to look. The development of observation skills is a fundamental scientific tool, which we aim to support at all levels.

Guided tours

Tours usually last between 60 minutes.

Maximum group size is 30 people per tour guide. If you have a larger group we will split you into multiple groups.

Tours can be booked for 11am or 2pm throughout the week and must be pre-booked at least two weeks in advance.
